AMLEIA
Associate Member
For those at the beginning of their career in lifting equipment engineering or related disciplines.
Minimum OND or equivalent qualification
Working in or studying lifting-related field
Commitment to CPD requirements

Member
For experienced practitioners who have demonstrated competence in lifting equipment engineering.
Minimum HND/BSc in Engineering or related field
Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
Two professional referees
Pass LEIA competency assessment

Fellow
The highest grade of LEIA membership, for senior practitioners who have made significant contributions to the lifting industry.
Minimum 10 years industry experience

Corporate
Corporate Membership
For companies involved in the lifting equipment industry. Corporate membership provides multiple staff access, preferential training rates, logo placement in LEIA publications, and representation on industry working groups.
Student
Student Membership
Free or heavily subsidised membership for full-time students in engineering and related disciplines. Provides access to LEIA resources and networking events during your studies.
How to Join

Application Process

Choose Your Grade
Review the membership grades above and identify which category best reflects your qualifications and experience level.

Complete the Application Form
Download and complete the relevant application form, providing full details of your qualifications, experience, and professional referees.

Submit Supporting Documents
Attach certified copies of your educational certificates, professional references, and any other required documentation.

Assessment & Approval
The Membership Committee reviews your application. Some grades require a competency assessment interview. You will be notified within 4–6 weeks.

Welcome to LEIA
Upon approval, pay your subscription fee and receive your membership certificate, post-nominal letters, and full access to member benefits.

Staying Current

CPD Requirements

LEIA Nigeria requires all members to undertake a minimum programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year to maintain their membership and ensure their knowledge and skills remain current.

CPD can be earned through attendance at LEIA-organised events, completion of approved training courses, publication of technical papers, active participation in LEIA committees, and other recognised professional development activities.
